🌿 Ayurveda Day to Be Celebrated Annually on September 23 from 2025

Theme 2025: “Ayurveda for People and Planet”

“Ayurveda as a holistic system rooted in harmony with nature”

In a historic move, the Government of India has announced that Ayurveda Day will now be observed annually on September 23, starting from 2025. This change marks a significant shift from the earlier tradition of celebrating it on Dhanvantari Jayanti (Dhanteras), aligning Ayurveda more closely with global health calendars and enhancing international participation.

The theme for Ayurveda Day 2025 is “Ayurveda for People and Planet,” emphasizing Ayurveda’s timeless wisdom in promoting personal wellness while maintaining ecological balance.

Union Minister Shri Prataprao Jadhav and Secretary Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha of the Ministry of AYUSH highlighted that Ayurveda has evolved into a global movement since 2016. The 2025 celebration is set to expand this vision by launching a far-reaching global awareness campaign, including:

Youth engagement programs

Free wellness consultations

International collaborations across over 150 countries

These events will be coordinated by the Ministry of AYUSH and its affiliated institutions to ensure that the observance is not just ceremonial but impactful.

“This fixed date marks a historic step forward in giving Ayurveda a consistent global identity,” said Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha.

By anchoring Ayurveda Day to a fixed date, the initiative seeks to amplify its global resonance and position Ayurveda as a solution for modern global challenges, including:

Lifestyle-related disorders

Climate-linked diseases

Stress and mental health issues

A Step Toward Global Wellness
Ayurveda, an ancient system rooted in balance and harmony with nature, is being increasingly recognized as a sustainable health solution. The restructured celebration of Ayurveda Day aims to channel this ancient wisdom to meet today’s needs for sustainable and holistic wellness.
