The Bihar government is set to boost industrial development across the state with several major initiatives approved in the recent cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. Out of 26 proposals cleared, many are focused on strengthening the state’s industrial infrastructure.
🔹 Fintech City to Come Up in Patna
A modern Fintech City will be developed in Fatuha, near Patna, close to the Multi-Modal Logistics Park. This initiative aims to position Bihar as a new hub for financial technology and innovation.
🔹 New Industrial Zones in Six Districts
New industrial zones will be developed in six districts of Bihar – Bhojpur, Rohtas, Sheikhpura, Sheohar, Darbhanga, and Purnia. Land acquisition processes will begin soon to facilitate development. The proposed locations are:
Bhojpur: Tarari
Rohtas: Shiv Sagar
Sheikhpura: Chewra
Sheohar: Tariyani
Darbhanga: Bahadurpur
Purnia: Nityanand Nagar
These areas will see infrastructure development, leading to increased employment opportunities and economic growth in the region.
🔹 Industrial Investment Promotion Package Approved
The cabinet has approved the Bihar Industrial Investment Promotion Package, which offers several incentives to entrepreneurs:
Land allocation up to 25 acres
Interest subsidies
Capital subsidies
Other financial benefits
This package is expected to attract private investments and promote entrepreneurship in the state.
🔹 Support for Divyang (Disabled) and Minority Entrepreneurs
The government has also announced financial assistance for differently-abled individuals to start their own businesses under an Entrepreneurship Scheme. The initiative will be operated by the Social Welfare Department .
