Bangladesh’s veteran wicketkeeper-batter Mushfiqur Rahim has etched his name in cricket history by achieving a milestone that even legends like Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli could not accomplish. Playing the 100th Test match of his illustrious career, Rahim scored a magnificent century, turning the moment into a historic celebration for Bangladesh cricket.
The final Test of the two-match series between Bangladesh and Ireland is being played at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur. For Mushfiqur Rahim—former Bangladesh captain—this match is exceptionally special as he becomes the first Bangladeshi cricketer to play 100 Test matches.

At 38, Rahim showcased remarkable composure and class during Bangladesh’s first innings. He scored 106 runs off 214 deliveries, hitting five fours, and remained unbeaten on 99 at stumps on Day 1 (19 November). On the next morning, he played cautiously in the opening overs before guiding a delivery from Jordan Neal towards square leg for a single—reaching the iconic century milestone in his 100th Test.
This century not only highlights Rahim’s technical brilliance but also cements his legacy as one of Bangladesh’s greatest Test cricketers.
